Globally, this month there has been 666 independent detections of notifiable Avian Influenza:• 56 High Path AI poultry outbreaks - 51 H5N8, 2 H5N5 and 3 H5N1. • 16 captive (non poultry) bird flock outbreaks. • 22 low path H5 and H7 AI flocks.• 572 positive wild birds and environmental specimens, which proved to be an invaluable predictor of poultry flock outbreaks in several countries. We calculate that there have been 6,886,456 poultry deaths from infected flock mortalities and depopulations as well as preventative and epidemiological linked culls.
